Everybody's talking of how Rani was spotted at a local restaurant in Mumbai, with her dad and a Firangi director. There were also a couple of co-ordinators with them. Apparently, the meeting was to decide whether Rani would be interested in a Firang project. The director was even carrying a bound copy of the script---now this must be a rare experience for Rani, as she must be more used to the haphazard way our Indian directors function. Now does this mean that Rani too is exploring foreign waters? Time will tell.

Mukerji is sporting a modern look in western outfits. She went through intense training to slim down and be suitable for the role. Mukerji instantly agreed to do this movie as she could identify her character with her own mother and has modelled her performance on her mother. It is also her first movie with the director Siddharth Anand, who was actually Mukerji’s school friend. Meanwhile, she has joined hands with her brother in setting up a TV production. The whole concept was only conceived seven months earlier and will now be set rolling.

The little birdie also tells us that Aishwarya Rai was supposed to do this film earlier but in wake of ongoing ShahRukh-Aishwarya tiff, Chopras decided to cast in Rani for the lead role. It is also heard that Chopras are mulling over Rani's name for their couple of upcoming ventures too.
